life is yoga, yoga is life

ā€‹I teach yoga movement and philosophy in the Surrey area and on-line.

ā€‹

I am committed to the ancient wisdom and practises of yoga. I believe that they are as useful and relevant to us now as they were at their inception.

ā€‹

Yoga has enabled and supported me for over two decades on my journey of Self awareness, exploration, health and growth - this is what I share through my teachings.

My Yoga Story

17949207721379299.jpg

I took my first yoga class in my late teens while living in London.

It was a homecoming.

ā€‹

Ever since that day yoga has been there for me. It is my constant source of support and has offered me a journey of self awareness and connection.

Yoga has helped maintain and improve my physical and mental health more than I could have ever imagined.

ā€‹

My journey to becoming a teacher was spread over many years and began primarily because I wanted to dedicate more time to the practice than just a regular class (back then there really wasn't that much in the way of deep yoga studies readily on offer).

ā€‹

Listening to this calling to know more I embarked on the year long British Wheel of Yoga foundation level (taught by the inspirational Lyn Core), a wonderful course of deep practice and self study that I would recommend to anyone with a niggle to know more about yoga and themselves.

ā€‹

My intention was to follow on this course directly with a teacher training but fate found me pregnant with my second child and Lyn choosing to lead a Foundation level 2, another year of yoga tutored self study I am so privileged to have received.

I hold a 500hr Level 4 Teacher Training Diploma with The British Wheel.

ā€‹

ā€‹

I studied this comphrensive yoga TT course (also tutored by Lyn) for well over two years and have been teaching since 2013.

For more information on the British Wheel of Yoga see their website www.bwy.org.uk

A very important part of my journey as a yoga teacher is to continue my journey as a student. I do this through self practice and continued self study. I attend classes, workshops and retreats hosted by other teachers. I love to read and study about yoga and related topics and to that end I have recently sat my GCSE in Sanskrit and continue to study this beautiful ancient language.r.

My yoga practice has been with me for over half of my life now. It informs every thing that I do and who I am.

For me Yoga can not be constrained to what happens in class or on a mat. Yoga is all of life and how it interconnects.
